Web Design VA: 5 Things We Love About Being a Design Firm in the DC Metro Area

ImageWorks Creative has been based out of Northern Virginia since we were founded in 1996, so one may try to argue that we simply don’t know any different.  However, we’ve spent some time recently thinking about all the great perks associated with being a VA web design firm in the DC metro area, and we wanted to share a few of our findings with you.

#1.  We get to design websites and other materials for organizations that are making a difference in the world.

One of our favorite things about being a Virginia web design and marketing firm is that we get to work with a tremendous variety of clients.  Many of those are small local businesses (like HVAC company Service Specialties Inc. and Capitol Shine mobile auto detailing) that make life easier for local residents.  Others are big businesses with global impact (like Providea’s video conferencing service).  Still others are non-profit organizations like MAG America, eliminating landmines and raising awareness about explosive ordnance devices throughout the world.  By designing websites and marketing campaigns for all of these organizations, we get to feel like we’re helping to make a difference, too!

#2.  We get to work with clients from all around the United States.

Since DC is a major metropolitan area, clients come to us from all over the United States to get the best website design and marketing services around.  That means that we have the privilege of working with companies in California, the Midwest, and the East Coast.  When we talk to our customers at Bluespring’s software company in Ohio, we get to hear wonderful Midwestern accents, and when we work late, we don’t have to worry about trying to get in touch with our CA clients, who run three hours behind our East Coast office.  And of course, we love designing websites in VA because we get to have face-to-face meetings with local businesses (like our recent laser tag adventure at Sudden Combat)!

#3.  We’re surrounded by brilliant creative professionals.

There’s no shortage of creative firms in DC, and while competition can be fierce, we also believe that it makes us work harder, smarter, and better!  We love checking out what other local designers are up to, learning from their experiences and ideas, and sharing our own.  Being in a highly competitive area means that we need to stay on top of the hottest trends and the newest tactics, and then we need to pass those on to our clients to help them succeed.  Northern Virginia is by far one of the best places to find creative, passionate inspiration for web design, marketing, branding, and life!   

#4.  We get to spend lots of time on the road, contemplating ways to help our clients succeed.

Hear us out for a minute.  Traffic is terrible in this part of VA, what with people scurrying around the Beltway and rushing around DC, but what is traffic but another opportunity to be alone with our thoughts and ideas?  Sometimes, sitting in traffic here gives us road rage, but more often than not, it gives us plenty of time to think about our customers, our designs, and our strategies.  Who doesn’t do his or her best thinking in the car? 

And now for the final reason why we love working in Northern Virginia …

#5.  We can pick up a six-pack when we stop for gas at the end of a long day.

That’s right, Virginia, not every state has such free-flowing alcoholic beverage laws.  We may not make a habit of it, but after a long day wracking our brains to come up with the best ideas and most innovative graphics, marketing campaigns, and content, it’s nice to know that 7-11 has a bottle (okay, a case) of beer in the fridge with our names on it.
